Are you eligible to apply for this account online?
  • You must be 18 or over to open an account online
  • You cannot open an online account on behalf of another person (for a child or where you wish to act as power of attorney, for example)
  • You'll need to provide your National Insurance number, as well as your name and contact details, plus your previous address if you've been at your current address for less than three years
  • You must be a permanent UK resident
  • You must be a UK tax resident
  • You'll need to have a valid UK current account held in your own name, as you'll need to quote the account number and sort code when applying online. Any online withdrawals that you make will be paid into this account
  • Please note that if you hold any branch based accounts, you'll only be able to view these accounts, and won't be able to transfer money
Please make sure you have the following information to hand before continuing with the application:
  • Your current account details that you'll be using as your nominated account
  • Your address history for the last three years
  • Your National Insurance number
  • Your existing ISA account details (if you're transferring an ISA to us). Please note that if you have an account number that's longer than eight digits, or you're unsure about whether your existing ISA has an account number or roll number, please contact your existing ISA Provider for guidance before starting this application. This will help avoid delays and rejections of your application
